Office 365 für Unternehmenskunden ist in sogenannte Familien aufgeteilt P, M und E:

• P = Small Business, Kleine Unternehmen, bis 25 Nutzer
• M = Midsize Mittelständische Unternehmen, bis 250 Nutzer
• E = Enterprise, mehr als 250 Nutzer, auch für Behörden und Bildungseinrichtungen

Zu den Familien gibt es unterschiedliche Pläne, in denen verschiedene Services zusammengefasst sind. Wichtig ist, dass später nicht von einer Familie in eine andere ohne Migrationsprojekt gewechselt werden kann. Man sollte vorher schon genau überlegen, wo man einsteigt.

Zusätzlich gibt es Stand-alone Services, die entweder eigenständig und unabhängig gebucht werden, oder in beliebiger Kombination zu einem Plan der Enterprise-Familie gebucht werden können. Letzteres ist wichtig für Project und Visio, da beide nicht zu einem Plan der P oder M Familie gebucht werden können. Sie müssten dann neu und unabhängig gemietet werden.

Marketing Agency Improves Efficiency, Communication with New Project Solution

Bassier, Bergmann & Kindler (BB&K) is a branding and training company in Germany that manages hundreds of projects a year. It recently upgraded to Microsoft Project Online and deployed Microsoft SharePoint Online to better share information, model business processes, and access project tools online. BB&K expects to trim project management costs by 10 percent and has gained more flexible infrastructure scalability and improved communications.

We estimate that we’ll be able to decrease project management time by at least 10 percent by using Project Online. This will help us create more competitive bids and win more business.

Construction Manufacturer Employs Cloud Service to Streamline Project Management

Hilti Corporation provides innovative technology solutions to the construction industry; however, it needed the latest technology to manage its own projects in an efficient and scalable way. It worked with Campana & Schott to conduct two pilot programs featuring Microsoft Project Online, a cloud service for project portfolio management and everyday work. The company benefits from improved agility and collaboration in project management, which helps to reduce IT workload, decrease costs, and increase productivity.

By using a cloud-based solution, we got the agility we were seeking. We can scale the use of Project Online from 20 people up to 10,000 users. It is easy to use and satisfies nearly 100 percent of our business needs.

Roland Gruschka: Herr Fasshauer, für wen ist Project?

Stephan Fasshauer: Microsoft Project ist für einzelne Projektmanager, Teams und für Unternehmen. Es gibt den sogenannten Client – also Project Standard 2013 oder Project Professional 2013 – und auch den Project Server 2013. In der Kombination der Produkte, zu denen auch SharePoint gehört, decken wir von der Auswahl des richtigen Projektes, über die optimale Durchführung des Projektes bis zum Reporting alle Funktionen ab. Neu ist, dass wir das jetzt sowohl on-premise als auch in der Cloud anbieten. Äquivalent zu Office 365 ist das Lizenzmodell von Project aus der Cloud auch ein Mietmodell mit monatlicher Zahlung.

RG: Sie sprechen von Project Online – diese Alternative ist wirklich neu.

SF: Richtig, der Project Server ist nun auch unter dem Namen Project Online als Angebot aus der Cloud verfügbar. Die herkömmliche Installation im Rahmen einer serverbasierten Infrastruktur kann also komplett durch Project Online ersetzt werden. Administratoren und Entscheider können eine Umgebung für die Projektorganisation, basierend auf der Office 365 Plattform, nun quasi per Knopfdruck bereitstellen. Projekt- und Portfoliomanagement (PPM) ist damit für jeden Interessenten erreichbar.

RG: Und wie sieht das mit dem Client von Project aus?

SF: Der Client ist ebenfalls unter dem Namen Project Pro für Office 365 aus der Cloud zu mieten. Dabei ist es wie bei dem neuen Office auch, man installiert aus der Cloud auf dem PC. Das Stichwort ist dabei Click-to-Run, also eine virtualisierte Desktop-Installation.

RG: Sie sind noch für ein zweites Programm verantwortlich, dass nun auch über die Cloud verfügbar ist: Visio

SF: Richtig – es gibt Visio Standard 2013, Visio Professional 2013 und ganz neu zur Miete aus der Cloud Visio Pro für Office 365. Das funktioniert wie bei Project auch. Im neuen Visio gibt es wieder Verbesserungen, mit denen schneller und einfacher Diagramme erstellt werden können, die Shapes-Vorlagen wurden überarbeitet, Designs und Effekte verbessert sowie Optionen, die die Zusammenarbeit im Team erleichtern weiter entwickelt.

RG: Team ist das Stichwort – wichtig ist hier ja immer die Verknüpfung mit anderen Teammitgliedern.

SF: Ja, und dem trägt die neue Version auch Rechnung. Man kann Diagramme dynamischer gestalten, indem in gewohnter Art Shapes mit Echtzeitdaten verknüpft werden und sie anschließend über die Visio Services in SharePoint für Kollegen ohne eigene Visio-Installation im Browser zur Verfügung stellen. Neu ist aber, dass man das auf SharePoint abgelegte Diagramm gleichzeitig mit den Kollegen bearbeiten kann. Das funktioniert, weil wir das Dateiformat überarbeitet haben und es nun wie bei anderen Office-Produkten auf XML basiert. Auch das kommentieren von Visio Diagrammen ist auf SharePoint in einer Art Dialog möglich, das macht die Erstellung schneller und effektiver.

RG: Also Visio nutzen ohne Visio selbst zu haben?

SF: Das geht in der Tat – Diagramme kann man auf SharePoint speichern, sodass die Mitarbeiter sie einfach über ihren Webbrowser auf nahezu jedem Endgerät betrachten können – auch dann, wenn sie selbst kein Visio installiert haben.

RG: Gibt es Verbindungen zwischen Project und Visio?

SF: Ja, man kann SharePoint Workflows für den Project Server bzw. Project Online mit Visio und dem kostenlosen SharePoint Designer 2013 modellieren. Diese Funktion ist stark verbessert worden und ist aus meiner Sicht richtig gut geworden.
